"I was fortunate to have served with C5/12, Oct. 68 until being
injured in the Pineapples on Jan. 25, '69. Command detonated
a booby trap, took my right leg and portion of right arm"
He gave all he could.

Huel Attaway present day pic. Huel said of the medics
"All the medics were really outstanding on our unit. I never knew one that wasn't a top notch medic and soldier. I wish I could remember more of the medics names, but as you recall we called of you "Doc". I do remember Lewis Levazzo as he was our 2nd platoon medic when we came over from Ft. Lewis and arrived in Vietnam. I will always have a special place in my heart for the "Doc's" of our unit."

This is a very special poem for Vets,
from our very special friend Abe Jones

VETERANS DAY 2002

Well, here we are, once again
With Veterans, in heart and mind
Still trying to heal, from 9/11
Facing Saddam, and his kind.
With a new War, looming
And the one that we now fight
Our Soldiers and our Nation
Willing , to do what's right.
It's not something, we want
But, something, that we must
As long as we, all believe
Our cause, is true and just.
Seasoned troops and new recruits
And Patriots in our Homeland
All hoping for peace and goodwill
And Freedom, in every foreign land.
Maybe some way, sometime, this day
Will be one, of true celebration
With Veterans a part of the past
And no more War, for any Nation.
